Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert was honored with a life-size mannequin, which is now on display at the Utah Jazz Team Store in Salt Lake City. With Gobert’s on-court prowess, he may someday be immortalized with a bronze statue. For now, though, we have the life-size mannequin to honor the Jazz’s powerful center from France. Gobert was the NBA blocks leader in the 2016-2017 season and was also named an All-NBA team member during the same season. In May of this year, he was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team. In June, he won the title of NBA Defensive Player of the Year.
To set the mannequin project in motion, Gobert was flown to Goldsmith, New York fashion leaders since 1927, to have his measurements taken. His body was scanned with a laser to get the 3D data needed to create his likeness in mannequin form. Still pictures were combined into 3D imagery to build the prototype for the final project. Gobert’s life-size mannequin was unveiled in October of 2017 at the Utah Jazz Team Store in front of adoring fans.
The Jazz Team Store was recently launched following the team’s spectacular run to the NBA Western Conference semifinals for the 2017-2018 season. The team ended up with a number five seed in the Western Conference.
The store carries clothing and novelty items for Utah Jazz fans. Customers can shop online or visit the physical store at the Vivint Smart Home Arena to buy the hottest merchandise, including team jerseys for Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, Ricky Rubio, Joe Ingles, Jae Crowder, and more. In addition to jerseys, the store sells hats, t-shirts, and outerwear.
